Andy Warhol

The sun is shining briliantly on this February day. Just the way Andy would of liked it. There was something about the sun and beauty that captured him.

The Marilyn Monroe Diptych was one of his first paintings in 1962. It projected the image of how he saw things and solidifed his style as a pop artist.

Yet it wasn't until after his untimely death in 1987 and the creation of his foundation that he became an artist worthy of history books.

In 1983 a Canadian Gallery owner, Frans Wynans commisioned Warhol to paint the then young 22 year old hockey star; Wayne Gretzky. Frans had suggested to Peter Pocklington that he should invest in an up and coming artist like Warhol...
